Your Data is Yours
Headjust was built to help you find balance, not to harvest your data. We do not monetize your information in any way. We do not sell user data, we do not track your behavior across other apps, and we do not store your physical posture data on any cloud server.
Data Collection & Usage
1. Motion Sensor Data
Headjust uses the motion sensors in your compatible headphones (AirPods/Beats) via the Apple CoreMotion framework.
- What we read: Pitch, yaw, roll (rotation), and gravity (acceleration) data in real-time.
- How we use it: This data is processed locally to calculate your Balance Score, determine if you are moving, and visualize your posture.
- Retention: High-frequency raw data is discarded immediately after processing. To generate your session history charts, periodic samples (taken every 2 seconds) of your orientation and score are saved securely to your Mac's local database. This data never leaves your device.
2. Camera Usage
Headjust requests camera access solely for the Calibration feature.
- Purpose: To detect your head and shoulder alignment using Apple's Vision framework, ensuring your baseline posture is accurate.
- No Recording: Video frames are processed locally in real-time memory and immediately discarded. No video or photos are ever saved to your disk, backed up, or transmitted anywhere.
- Active State: The camera is only active while the Calibration window is open.
Local Storage
Headjust uses standard macOS frameworks (SwiftData and UserDefaults) to store your preferences and history entirely locally on your device.
- Session History: Timestamps, durations, balance scores, and periodic posture samples from your past tracking sessions.
- Preferences: Your app settings, such as your chosen theme and startup behavior.
- Calibration: Your saved calibrated baseline posture angles.
You retain full control over your data. You can delete specific sessions or clear your entire session history at any time via the Settings > Sessions menu in the app.
Third-Party Sharing
Headjust does not integrate with any third-party analytics SDKs, such as Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or Facebook Pixel. We do not transmit your posture, motion, or usage data to any external servers.
The only data that may leave your device is standard, anonymized crash reporting handled directly by Apple. If you have explicitly opted into sharing analytics with developers in your macOS System Settings, Apple may provide us with basic, anonymized crash logs to help improve the app's stability.
